As the days get shorter and the air starts to turn cooler, it can only mean that Winter is approaching. We think your home should reflect the seasons. Here are some tips on how to get your home holiday ready with a few simple updates.
KEEP IT NEUTRAL
We love patterns, but a white bed can be a central element of the holiday home. “A white bed is an iconic bed...it’s one that everyone loves, it looks clean and simply comfortable.” Layering the bed with texture in varying shades of whites and creams provides the perfect neutral backdrop to layer on holiday pillows or bedding in any color palette.
LAYER IN SIMPLE ACCENTS
Once you have a color palette established, layer in subtle touches of shimmer and shine to amp up the holiday spirit.
For the holiday mantel, start with greenery, whether it be real or faux, to bring in a touch of nature and festive cheer. A bundle made from faux cypress leaves, berry stems, eucalyptus leaves and pine stems, brings in maintenance free greenery that can be easily be swapped out when the holiday season ends.
BRING IN THE UNEXPECTED
Who says you can only have a Christmas tree in your living room? The holidays are about enjoying yourself and creating an environment that is beautiful and relaxing.
Why not put a tree in your bedroom if you have space! A tree in a more private area allows you to depart from an existing color scheme or use ornaments that may be too fragile to showcase normally if pets and small children are a concern.Bring focus to the stairwell by wrapping it in classic garland. Not only does the garland highlight the home’s architectural details, it also welcomes guests with the nostalgic scent of pine. For those of you that would prefer to keep things even more low maintenance, select a faux garland already wrapped in lights for a double decorating punch.
Holiday decorating doesn’t need to be stressful. Be inspired! With a little planning, you can create a festive, stylish and fun holiday home!
